What's a scrap drive?
A "Scrap Drive" is a USB flash drive that has been re-designed using recycled electronics, parts, and other sustainable materials. The drive is fully functional, and is loaded with information aimed at raising the awareness of electronic waste. For the most part each drive is one of a kind, with some exceptions. Customization is avaliable upon request.
What's the project about?
Attic Hermit's Scrap Drives is a design thesis project. The main goal of this project is to promote awareness, and educate people about electronic waste, and how they can go about recycling their own electronics. The project is specifically aimed at helping designers and creative professionals. In the design and creative industry we are constantly upgrading our computers and equipment, but little is known about what happens after the old ones get thrown out.
